Advertising (2) openings: 1) Non-tenure track Lecturer (position 2010-55) Teach four advertising classes each semester. Requires an appropriate master’s degree and three years professional experience. Prior teaching experience preferred. 2) Assistant Professor (position 2010-56) Tenure track position teaching three courses per semester and conducting research. Requires terminal degree in advertising or related area. Prior teaching and professional experience preferred. Applicants must be able to teach some combination of the following courses: media planning, account planning, copywriting, ad/pr management, portfolio, campaigns, on-line marketing, advertising design. Demonstrated excellence in teaching advertising copywriting and ability to teach graphic design, knowledge of graphics design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and basic web design skills is preferred for both positions. Applicants must be willing to teach a teaching theatre class (300 students ) of intro to advertising as needed and to teach a course if needed at Texas State’s Round Rock Higher Education Center.
