Journalism & Photography Dept. at San Antonio College visits school

Students and faculty from the Journalism & Photography Department at San Antonio College spent some time at Texas State recently, touring campus media and exploring Old Main. The SAC students produce an award-winning weekly college paper, The Ranger, and were interested in operations at the University Star and KTSW.

Texas State School of Journalism and Mass Communication faculty and staff met with the students to discuss course offerings here and transfer options. The SAC students spent the morning in Old Main and at the Star and then went to the LBJ Student Center for an afternoon with TCCJA, the Texas Community College Journalism Association conference, coordinated by Star Advisor Bob Bajackson.

Graduate Students Spend Summer Touring Central Texas Wineries

Students enrolled in Dr. Cindy Royal's Advanced Multimedia Project Course over the summer toured several area wineries and developed a Web site to showcase what they learned. The site, developed by Shanda Barksdale, Michael Freberg, Philip Hadley, and Taylor Kuhlmann, uses video, photo slideshows, and Google Maps to create an immersive experience.  Users can also leave comments about their own favorite vineyard excursions.  The site can be found at http://mclabserv.oldmain.txstate.edu/wine_tour  .
