The University Star and KTSW-FM won a record number of first place awards at the Society of Professionals Journalists Region 8 conference in Oklahoma.
KTSW and the Star both won first place awards for in-depth reporting. The Star also won first place awards for Best Online Student Publication, General News Reporting and Online Opinion and Commentary.
The first place award winners go on to compete in the national SPJ awards competition.
