Short Courses

Digital Dash LogoTake a Digital Dash. These one-credit-hour short courses introduce students to digital skills and emerging topics in a short sprint or compressed timeframe instead of the standard three-credit-hour format. We offer these one-credit-hour courses in new formats to meet the scheduling needs of students. Take one or more in a semester. Past short courses have included Digital Ethics, Drone and Sensors, Digital-First Mindset, Video for Social Media, Coding Workshop and Virtual Reality/360 Video.

During Fall 2017, the following short courses will be offered. 

MC1100F: Cyberlaw
Instructor: Gilbert Martinez

Meets online in September, then two in-person sessions and a field trip. Learn about the ways digital media affects laws and policy. 

MC1100G: Making a Mobile App
Instructor: Cindy Royal

Meets online for two weeks in November and one in-person workshop. Learn the basics of making a mobile application.

MC1100I: Fundamentals of Layout and Design
Instructor: Emmeline Aguirre Olson

Meets each Wednesday for 50 minutes. Learn about the basics of layout and design.
