In 2010, Emmeline Aguirre accepted a lecturer position at Texas State University with hopes of sharing with her students the experience and knowledge she has gained after more than two decades working in the advertising industry. After graduating in 1994 with a double major in Journalism with emphasis in Advertising and English and a minor in writing from Stephen F. Austin State University, Ms. Aguirre moved to Austin, where she earned an MA in advertising with a focus on the creative sequence in 1997 from The University of Texas at Austin.
She has worked as both an art director and copywriter for several companies in their internal marketing and creative departments and continues to provide design, copywriting, and editing services to a variety of clients both pro bono and as a freelance Communications Specialist.
Ms. Aguirre is the faculty advisor for the Ad Club at Texas State, the student chapter of the American Advertising Federation. She is the co-Vice President of Education for the Austin Advertising Federation and is also an active member of the Association for Women in Communications (AWC) and Freelance Austin.
