Michelle is an independent brand strategy consultant with 20 years in the industry. Her company, Behave Strategic Consulting, was built on the premise that growing brands in today’s digital world requires not only big picture thinking but understanding the overall narrative that culminates from a series of behaviors. She is passionate about helping brands find and operate from their belief system and purpose.
She has deep experience in uncovering insights via primary qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. Her research designs are focused on digging into real, underlying questions in order to find unconventional answers. She is also a skilled moderator for various types of exploratory qualitative methodologies including ethnography, IDI, and focus groups.
Before starting Behave, she was at GSD&M for 4 years as a VP, Strategy Director on several accounts including Walgreens and Popeyes. Before GSD&M, she was in Los Angeles at TBWA/Chiat/Day spearheading strategic thinking as the US planning director for Mars Petcare Brands, most notably Pedigree. She also was lead the agency’s first efforts on Tostitos and Stacy’s Pita Chips. She also spent time at Ogilvy & Mather where she was the strategic lead on several brands including Tabasco and Cisco Systems. Before Chiat/Day, she was at The Richards Group in Dallas on The Home Depot account as well as many others. Michelle cut her teeth in advertising as an account supervisor in Boston at Arnold Worldwide on McDonald¹s. She has won One Gold and Two Silver Effies, as well as other awards.
Michelle has a both Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in Advertising with a concentration in Account Planning from The University of Texas at Austin.
An avid traveler and skier, she and her husband, Marc, share their home in Austin with their precocious 6-year-old daughter, Ava.
