Abbey Chiodo Gray teaches Media Law and Ethics, focusing primarily on First Amendment issues.

Abbey earned degrees in mathematics and economics from Texas State University. After college she worked as a research associate at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, doing monetary policy research and writing for various Federal Reserve publications such as the St Louis Review and the Beige Book.

Later, she attended the University of Texas School of Law, where she served as an articles editor on the Texas Law Review and graduated with honors. After law school, Abbey served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Simeon Lake in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

In addition to teaching, Abbey is of counsel at the law firm Soltero Sapire Murrell, PLLC, where she focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and privacy issues.  Prior to joining SSM, she worked in the Dallas and Austin offices of Baker Botts, LLP.
